The Story Behind Southern Buttermilk Pie
Every fragrance begins with one of our family's memories...and we hope it becomes one of yours.
There are some memories that never fade, no matter how many years pass. For me, one of those memories begins in my Granny Louise's kitchen. Granny Louise grew up during the Great Depression. Life wasn't easy, and she often talked about making the most of what they had. Fresh buttermilk came from the family cows, butter was churned by hand, and eggs came from the chickens they raised. Sugar was a luxury, but whenever they were fortunate enough to have it, Granny knew exactly what she wanted to make. Buttermilk pie.
It wasn't an expensive dessert. It didn't require fancy ingredients. It was simple, comforting, and made with love. Some of my happiest childhood memories were spent with Granny Louise. She helped raise me during my earliest years because my mother became ill after I was born, and the bond we shared never faded. We did everything together, and even though I lost her in 1995, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of her.
When I began creating fragrances for TOC Creations, I realized I didn't want to make products that were simply beautiful. I wanted every fragrance to remind someone of a memory worth holding onto. Southern Buttermilk Pie became one of those fragrances.
Every time I smell it, I'm reminded of Granny's kitchen, the stories she shared, and the strength of a woman who found joy even during difficult times. She taught me that love isn't measured by what we have. It's measured by what we give to the people around us. That is what TOC Creations is all about. Every fragrance begins with one of our family's memories, and we hope it becomes one of yours.
